Mention Messaging

If you want to target specific member(s) of your groups, you can use the "@ mention" message functionality when writing a piece of content or leaving a comment/reply. This is an excellent way to make other team members quickly aware of news or updates, especially if they are not logged in to Clinked on a permanent basis, since the recipients get an email notification with your comment and link to the content you mentioned.

New content (uploaded or created) is not "followed" by your team members by default, with this in mind the Mention messaging will make it easier to make them aware of the new content that has been created.

Other team members will see your Mention message in their Activity stream (it is not private messaging), but only targeted users will receive an email notification.

How to mention members

Step 1: Navigate to the content (newly updated or an existing file, task, note, or event), locate the comment box and start typing.

Step 2: Activate the mention messaging function by typing "@" followed by the name of the team member you want to target. You can do this anywhere in the comments box.

Step 3: Clinked will automatically filter and suggest group members as you type the letters after the "@" sign.

Step 4: Click the member name of your choice to include it in the comment.

Step 5: Repeat to include multiple group members in your comment.

Step 6: Hit "Enter" or click "Send" button to post your comment

This will generate an email notification and portal notification. See example below an example of each notification after a member has been mentioned.

Please remember that mentioning members function is only available if the comments are enabled within a group.
